Lloyds only launched refer-a-friend in November 2025, making it one of the few high-street banks to borrow a trick from the app-only challengers. Unlike its usual switching incentives, there's no full switch to complete, no monthly pay-in to hit and no direct debits to move across — you simply open a Classic or eligible Club Lloyds account through a friend's link and the £30 lands as a cash credit within 35 days. Because it's a referral reward rather than a switch bonus, it doesn't use up your chance to claim a Lloyds switching offer later. The catch is timing: each referral link expires 14 days after your friend generates it, and you have to download the Lloyds app from that link rather than applying on the website. You'll also need to be completely new to Lloyds — an old savings account, credit card or mortgage with them rules you out.

- When the scheme launched in November 2025 both sides got £50. The current offer for a new customer is £30 — always check the amount shown in the app before you apply, as Lloyds adjusts it from time to time.
- Do I need to switch my bank account to Lloyds?
- No. You only need to open the account through the referral link. There's no Current Account Switch, minimum deposit or direct debit requirement.
- Can I still get a Lloyds switching bonus later?
- The referral reward is separate from Lloyds' switch offers, so claiming it doesn't count as your switch bonus. Each switch offer has its own eligibility rules, though, so check them when one comes along.
- Why didn't my referral reward arrive?
- The most common reasons are an expired link (older than 14 days), applying on the website instead of through the app from the link, or having held another Lloyds product before. If none apply and 35 days have passed, contact Lloyds.
- How do I refer a friend to Lloyds?
